About the Event
Join me and local herbalist, Lesley Hoyle, for an autumnal day in nature celebrating the change in seasons as we begin to turn toward the dark, reflective half of the year. Prepare to introduce ritual and imagination into your season.
We'll equip you with a basket for a mindful foraging walk down to the woodland where we'll make a seasonal tincture guided by Lesley, who will share some of her wisdom on herbalism and native plants. And techniques for connecting with the plants in your environment.
With some of the ingredients foraged, collectively we'll prepare a seasonal lunch to enjoy around the fire. After lunch, we'll spend some time reflecting and celebrating the changes around us and what this means to us individually and collectively to move through the seasons with some nature journalling and writing.
We'll finish the day around the stone circle bringing the plants into our everyday lives, with stories of local folklore and a ritual of holly, acorn and ivy plants that traditionally represent the two masculine energies and the single feminine energy that hold the cycles of nature in their arms.
Our aim is that you leave feeling connected, grounded and prepared and excited for the season ahead of you.
What you need to know
- The walk to our woodland is approximately 15/20 minutes. The route is flat but it's important you are comfortable walking this distance.
- Lunch and drinks are included but we encourage you to bring along your own water bottle
- Please dress appropriately for the weather. We aim to spend the majority of the day outdoors so please wrap up warm and wear waterproof footwear and clothing. If it is a complete wash out we will go ahead with this gathering in our inside barns.
