Handcrafted Jewellery

Jewellery represents so many things, a place, a time, a way to express yourself, and within  each piece lies so many stories.  We're often so focussed on the design that we forget about the designer and the materials used.

Whilst travelling the world  I collected a piece of jewellery from each country I visited to represent my time there and to  signify the culture of that particular place. I met Marcial the designer of the Viva La Vida range in San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico. After falling in love with his varied pieces he had on display in an artists collective I asked him if I could come to his workshop for a few days. I was keen to understand more about working with alpaca metal which is commonly used in Mexico and to pick up some skills to add to my hobbiest silversmithing

Marcial uses alpaca metal and brass in these beautiful designs and I'm sure you'll agree they are stunning.
